Hayat Kimya has invested over $15 million to produce 2.5 billion masks annually and 7 million masks per day. As Turkey’s only surgical face mask manufacturing company that uses its own raw material, the company will focus on exports. Commenting on the new investment, Hayat Kimya vice president of Operations İbrahim Güler states, “The pandemic brought the concept of a new ‘normal’ to our lives. Masks have become a part of our daily lives. As Hayat, we are carrying our 33 years of experience in hygiene and cleaning categories in the FMCG industry, and our know-how into the surgical mask industry, and offer protection and comfort at once.” Stating that they have started production with an investment over $15 million and additional employment of 400 people, Güler adds, “We stepped in the industry as the world’s largest Turkish surgical mask manufacturer with 2.5 billion mask production capacity annually and 7 million mask production capacity per day. We are producing the nonwoven, which is one of the most important raw materials used in surgical masks, in our own plants. That makes us the only surgical mask manufacturer that produces with its own raw materials in Turkey. This enables us to offer the best of Hayat to our consumers with sustainable production competency and uncompromised quality at all times.” Underlining that Turkey has a strategic importance in the production of surgical masks, Güler further commentes: “We will differentiate in the surgical mask industry by offering value-added and innovative products worldwide. We extended our world-class quality production approach to the surgical mask category as well. Currently, we produce the only surgical mask that has three layers and offers protection on each layer. We have ISO 14683/TIP2, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, CE, TSE Covid-19 Safe Production Certificates as a company that respects world-class quality. We brought together protection and comfort in Goodcare with skin friendly nonwoven layers and perfect fit to the face. Goodcare surgical face masks offer up to 99% bacterial protection. We will continue to carry Hayat’s innovative approach to surgical face mask category. Thanks to our production agility and awarded R&D center, we will we will enrich our product portfolio. We will introduce special designs for children and adults in the coming period. We will focus on export to more than 100 countries with Goodcare.” Güler emphasized that the company believes that everyone has the right to access high quality products and says: “In other words, we are standing out in the industry by offering value-added, innovative products with accessible price policies. Our initiative in the surgical mask category, once again proves this commitment. As the ‘World’s Largest Turkish Surgical Mask Manufacturer’ in the industry, we will continue to our sustainable growth with production and export.”
